90% of Young Adult book covers in 2011 featured a white character.

Listen, this whole report is FASCINATING and so impressive. I’ve looked at it a few times and my mind is overwhelmed each time. Beyond even this graphic there’s details about different genders on YA covers, and HOW those genders/minorities are shown on the cover, etc. etc. Great stuff. And by great, I mean not so great.

Any we wonder why some people don’t read we obviously aren’t the target audience for the book industry…..
